Gandhi Jayanti - A Day To Reflect

Does it take 138 years for a Mahatma to be born?

Today is Oct 2nd - a day to reflect & a day to remember..

As India celebrates the 138th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, each of us should make it a point to not just treat this day as a holiday. Though everyone cannot be a Mahatma, all of us have it in us to bring about a change in ourselves and our surroundings if we really try.

"Just as a single stone thrown in a river can create numerous ripples, each of us can bring about positive changes in our society by a single good thought and deed."

The most commendable characteristic of Gandhi ji was that he practiced what he reached - truthfulness, honesty and no-violence. On this auspicious day, let us make a vow to follow at least one teaching of the Great Mahatma Gandhi that may have touched our hearts....

Dear,Friend
In 1942, his ‘Quit India’ slogan was to serve as the final signal to

British dominion in India. The partition of India and Pakistan came

as a personal shock to Gandhi. When the nation was rejoicing

independence (1947), Gandhi went to Naokhali to ameliorate the

conditions of the communal riot victims.
