Leadership is not a popularity contest!

Leadership is not a popularity contest!

A celebrated neurosurgeon said: There is no such thing as an average human being; if you have a normal brain, you are superior.

It is not about being liked it is actually about doing right. Many leaders are afraid of conflicts; they have deep seated need of being popular & cherished. They hate ruffling feathers & making waves.-They are insecure & not comfortable living in their own skin. A person who crafts stupendous career & live a spectacular life is not by doing things in an ordinary way but doing ordinary things in an extra ordinary way.

Leadership is nothing to do with a title on your business card or the size of office or clothes you wear or money you have. It’s a philosophy, its an attitude, it’s a state of mind, it’s a way of operating. By being a leader or by thinking like a CEO it does not mean that you have to be one it’s just about being responsible for what you have been given. It’s an obligation to show leadership daily regardless of a title or position.

Great leaders are different:
1. they fearlessly making tough calls
2. they speak the truth
3. they tell the underperformers that they are underperforming
4. they appreciate their star performers
5. Worry a little about their public opinion.

• Tender yet tough
• Friendly yet firm
• Compassionate yet courageous

“Great people build monuments from the stones that their critics throw at them.”
