Telephonic Interviews are gaining popularity what with the large number of applicants Placement firms and HR heads have to deal with everyday. Usually leading to an on-site interview, the purpose of a telephone interview is to screen potential employees and to weed out clearly unsuitable candidates from further consideration.
     
Since a direct, face to face contact is missing in a phone interview, it is important to pay complete attention to the way you talk and present yourself, right from the moment you say "Hello".
