Firstly, a quick rundown of the most important places to see:
Westminster with Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square (just because everyone's been there). National Gallery, Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, British Museum, Imperial War Museum, St Paul's Cathedral, Madame Tussauds, Science Museum, Soho, & Piccadilly Circus. Here are:

• The National Gallery: Situated on the north side of Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery has been the home for the National Collection of Art from 1250 to 1900. The gallery contains more than 2,300 paintings - all of which are owned by the British public.

• Buckingham Palace: This is the official London residence of HM Queen Elizabeth II. After being developed from a large townhouse built for the Duke of Buckingham in 1703.
